CBORD Introduces Latest Functionality for CS Gold AdminWeb
For Immediate Release
May 1, 2008
Ithaca, New York—The CBORD Group, Inc., the leading provider of campus card and
integrated security solutions to the college and university community, is pleased
to announce the release of the latest module of its CS Gold® AdminWeb online
card administration solution: CS Gold AdminWeb Access Assignments.
AdminWeb Access Assignments features the ability to manage access schedules
and privileges online, without the requirement of a CS Gold GUI installed on
users' workstations. The solution improves remote accessibility to CS Gold for
card office staff, and also reduces time spent fulfilling requests from employees in
other departments who can now access the needed information themselves.
Designed to significantly reduce GUI requirements, CS Gold AdminWeb uses the power of the Internet to enable CS Gold nightly reports, ad hoc reports, patron lookups, access assignments, and point-of-service messaging on any Internetready computer or mobile device. Its online format means campus card administrators no longer need to be in the office to carry out these tasks, and since AdminWeb resides on a web server, end users are always using the latest software.
CS Gold AdminWeb Access Assignments, the latest module of this online solution, brings the power of CS Gold's industry-leading access assignment capabilities directly to users. Users may view and edit access assignments, schedules, and calendars; assign access to patrons and patron groups; and even set up door lock/unlock schedules, all from the convenience of the Internet. AdminWeb has been available for remote access to reports and patron searches for more than a year. The system also has the ability to display emergency messages sent from CS Gold in the header area of the website.
"We really wanted to cut down on the number of CS Gold client installs throughout our campus that were used for access control management, and with AdminWeb Access Assignments we can do that," says Jim Clinton, Director, Card Operations, University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. "Plus, we are able to add more features for individual departments to use to make their access management more efficient, such as logging in remotely from anywhere through the website."
"A typical day in the life of a campus card administrator rarely involves sitting behind a desk for extended periods of time, so we developed CS Gold AdminWeb to help our users maintain control on the go," says Randy Eckels, Senior Vice President, Sales and Marketing, The CBORD Group, Inc. "AdminWeb features a broad range of functionality, and the latest release of online access management underscores the need for universities to be able to act quickly to secure their campuses at any time. We are pleased to offer this service to our clients and expect the solution to continue to be successful.

“I have been going to the UGC for a long time. I enjoy seeing and networking with the CBORDians and with other users. It is a great time to talk about the product and learn how other users use it. I always come away with good information. I also feel the caucus session is instrumental in how we shape the product. It is a great time to give feedback and new ideas.”
