CBORD welcomes longstanding Diebold Card Systems Division client, RIT

Ithaca, New York—The CBORD Group, Inc., having recently acquired Diebold, Inc., Card Systems Division, is pleased to welcome the Rochester Institute of Technology (RIT) to its growing family of college and university clients. RIT, located in Henrietta, New York, is internationally recognized for its professional and career-oriented education, with more than 15,000 students enrolled in its eight colleges.

RIT had been a Diebold client since the late 1960s. The college expanded its Diebold product suite over the years to include point of sale, laundry, and vending readers used by students, faculty, and staff. Most recently, RIT has upgraded to CS Gold®, a multi-faceted campus card system that includes technology to manage meal plans, facility access control, purchasing, and privilege control.

RIT has taken advantage of CS Gold’s diverse capabilities to bring together all aspects of its campus card activities. RIT will soon have even more benefits available to the school from the expanded CBORD product suite, which now includes: housing management systems, judicial management systems, access control systems, cashless vending, point of sale and self-order kiosk solutions, food and nutrition management systems, e-commerce and the Webfood® Online Ordering solution.

The university, already a user of CBORD’s Menu Management System®, feels the acquisition is a positive development. “We were glad to hear about the acquisition,” says RIT’s Director of Food Service, Jim Bingham. “We know the people at CBORD, and we think it’s a good partnership. RIT has always enjoyed excellent service from Diebold’s help desk and sales staff, and now it can only get better.”
